The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 will get a
Camaro-beating 315 HP V6, according to leaked info posted on The Mustang
Source. The new "Coyote" V8, however, will only make 400 HP, slightly behind
the Camaro SS. We know it's only May of 2009 but rumors are flying around
again about the return of the 5.0-liter motor for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT.
This time the rumors may actual pan out to be fact as Ford Motor Company
development director Russell Christophers let it slip Ford is readying an
all-new 5.0-liter V-8 dubbed the 'Coyote' that will replace the aged 4.6-liter
and 5.4-liter V-8's. He spilled his guts during a recent interview with
Austrailia's Drive, he also went on to say he has "seen the performance
curves and it is a pretty good engine". The all-new aluminum 32-valve 5.0-liter
V-8 would produce around 400 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs. of torque. The
engine would also find it's way into the 2011 Ford F-150. As has been
typical with pony car styling for decades, Ford comes out with a new model
every 5 or so years, which is not to say an all new model, just a major
restyling.
